Leading system change
Leading long-term participatory change initiatives to battle societal challenges. A participatory masterclass with Tim Merry (Canada) and team.
We won´t create the future we want by making our systems operate more efficiently. The challenges within our systems for education, healthcae, un-employment, urban development or sustainability require more radical change. That insight is making many organisations question current models of leadership as well as how change initiatives are carried out. Collaboration in multi-stakeholder processes is becoming the new normal. How we work with change is changing.
Change leader Tim Merry will share his latest learning and examples from current work. Tim Merry works in Canada and internationally supporting communities and organisations. He is one of the co-founders of the Art of Hosting / Participatory leadership. SKL (the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions) have offered trainings in this practice to support local authorities and other actors to collaborate around complex societal challenges.

Together with a local team he hosts this masterclass for the partner organisations and others. The local team members are experienced processhosts working in the intersection of public and civil sector on leadership, governance, social innovation and sustainability: David Ershammar, Sophia Kaså, Emilia Rekestad with support of Maria Lagneby and Cisco Armstrong.
Questions that guides our learning;
- What does this shift towards a more participatory leadership focusing on system change really mean in practice?
- How do we plan and frame longer collaborative processes so that change can be driven by many for a longer period of time?
- How do we support stakeholders to use their differences as a strength and establish both the depth, creativity and broad ownership that today’s challenges need so badly?
- How can we stay aware of and work with issues of power and social change?
Most participants will be individuals or teams from the partnering organisations. But there are also several places open for enrolment!
|Place:||Malmö, Slagthuset (close to Malmö central station)|
|Cost:||2.700 kr plus vat/moms|
The masterclass is participatory in both content and layout and thus based on the participants experiences, challenges and active participation. Please come with a team of colleagues so that you can learn together!
If we have enough participants to cover our cost we will be able to subsidise the fee for participants from organisations that can’t afford the full price right now. Pleas, get in touch if this is the case for you!
