Malmö University are pleased to invite you to the Urban Seminar series, Autumn 2017. The University have invited exciting scholars who will speak on the topic of Understanding Urbanisation Today. In collaboration with HUS network Sustainable housing, Urban Renewal and Social Justice

Nik Theodore

Nik Theodore is a Professor in Urban Planning and Policy and Associate Dean, University of Illinois (UIC) at Chicago’s Great Cities Institute. His work focuses on neoliberal urbanism, labor organizing, migration, urban informality and informal economies and urban political economy. He is a highly cited researcher in social science. His research has been published in economics, public policy, and urban studies journals as well as in media. Prior to joining UIC he was an Atlantic Fellow in Public Policy at the University of Manchester (England). He is also an editor of Antipode: A Radical Journal of Geography and on the board of IJURR (International Journal of Urban and Regional Research).
